How do we help you love your curves? By flattering, flaunting – and not hiding – every perfect inch of you in a swimsuit. Nothing says confidence like having fun, looking amazing, and feeling great in a swimsuit.

Tell us: What do you love most about your curves?

Back to the Shore

Two years after Hurricane Sandy wrecked havoc on our beloved Jersey Shore, we set up shop at Pier Village in Long Branch to shoot our Cruise 2015 collection. The timing couldn’t have been better. It was the last nice beach weekend of the summer season.

A pretty big deal for this New Jersey-based company, wouldn’t you say?

We hit the beach with models Julie Lewis and Abby Valdes who posed in our Longitude and Delta Burke collections while Quinn Miles and Iskra Lawrence showed off our cover ups. We took to the little shopping town to stylishly show that our Cruise 2015 cover ups are as just as chic at the beach as they are on street (or rooftop pool, whichever you prefer).

This season we are proud to announce a new collection of jersey t-shirt and tank dresses. They’re so soft—it’s like wearing your favorite worn-in t-shirt! We couldn’t be happier with the collection or the photographs.

Check them out, we can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Mary’s Place by the Sea

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we pledged 5% of proceeds from all orders in October to Mary’s Place by the Sea, a charitable home on the Jersey Shore for women struggling with cancer.

In describing Mary’s Place’s mission, co-founders Michelle Gannon and Maria McKeon told us that they just want their guests to feel beautiful. “Heal the mind, body, and spirit,” McKeon told us. “When a guest comes here, we take them as they are.”

It’s safe to say that our core beliefs are very closely aligned. “It’s of utmost importance to us that our customers always feel their best,” says our CEO Moshe Laniado. “As a New Jersey-based company, we are proud to support Mary’s Place by the Sea, an organization that selflessly provides comfort to women in need right in our own backyard.”

Mary’s Place got its start when Gannon, while recovering from a difficult illness in January 2009, came up with the idea to create a free place where women battling cancer or in recovery could relax by the sea to renew, replenish and have a respite from treatment.

On November 5th, 2014 Mary’s Place by the Sea broke ground on a new facility. What started as a bed and breakfast has grown from five-bedrooms to now, a 10-bedroom home, that has comforted over 4,000 women  – a huge feat considering the home operates solely on donations. We hope that our donation will a go long way towards helping Mary’s Place build its new home.

In October, two members of our team had the pleasure of visiting Mary’s Place’s serene headquarters and meeting Gannon and McKeon to discuss our shared commitment to bettering the lives of women.

“It’s been wonderful to have people outside of our market, be with us and helping us to provide for our guests,” McKeon said of partnering with swimsuitsforall. “It’s helpful as we go on this mission.”

Our Jamaican Adventure

We create our shoots to inspire you—to call up some of the fun you feel when you’re hanging out at a pool or beach. To capture that energy we’re always looking for just the right mix of location, models, and crew. For our Fall 2014 Collection shoot this June, we jetted off to the Catch a Falling Star resort in Negril, Jamaica. It’s a city and country we’re totally in love with—the food (jerk chicken!), the people, and the scenery have a unique, colorful island vibe that is perfection paired with our suits. Think bright, cloudless blue skies and horses galloping on powdery white beaches. For the past year we’ve been working with photographer Michael Edwards. He understands our look and knows how to play up our fun-yet-sexy vibe.

Just call us sun chasers: We kicked off each morning of our three-day shoot at dawn so that models Abby Valdes, Amanda Tice, and Camilla Hansen could be finished with hair and makeup by 8 AM, the hour the Jamaican sun is just right for shooting. We love working with Abby, Amanda, and Camilla because they reflect the wide range of body types and looks of our customers. With live reggae in the the air — a local band came up to our set and started playing. And at midday, we took long breaks to lunch on jerk shrimp, chicken, and fish and fried plantains prepared by a Jamaican cook who made our meals in her home and delivered them to the set. To keep our energy up in the 100-degree heat, we drank coconut water straight from the fruit and chewed sugar cane. Our Kingston-based production team, Cinecom Productions Limited, hooked the crew up with Jamaican apples, which are much sweeter than traditional apples.

We wrapped with a “Dive In” shot of Abby Valdes taking the plunge off of a rocky cliff near the resort (Look out for the image in our emails!) and celebrated another successful swimsuitsforall shoot with cold Red Stripes, a Jamaican beer.

Phil Cantwell

Meet… Phil Cantwell, Operations Associate

What’s your favorite body of water and why?
Just about anywhere along the Jersey Shore because it’s where I feel most at ease.

What’s your most memorable swim story?
Just last year, my oldest brother took on a year-long training program for his job in Hawaii. Naturally, I took full advantage of his “aloha spirit” and generosity; I visited him three times over the course of the year! One of my favorite experiences while out there occurred as I was swimming at the beach right outside of his house. I dove under the water only to find myself face to face with a giant sea turtle!

Before you worked at s4a what did you do?
I was a substitute teacher at a middle school.

Describe what you do at s4a in one sentence:
In a nutshell, I help to ensure the business is running smoothly and efficiently.

What’s your favorite thing about working for s4a?
My favorite part of working at swimsuitsforall is the culture within the office. Everyone gets along great and we all work very well together!

What’s in your beach tote?
I don’t carry a tote, but I always have a towel, a snapback hat and of course, some food!

Describe your swim style in three words:
Bright, casual and laid-back

Meet… Karen Olson, Senior Web Developer

What’s your favorite body of water and why?
The swimming pool in my building because I’m afraid of “real” water!

What’s your most memorable swim story?
When I was little, we used to go visit my grandmother at her summer trailer. The trailer park was on a lake and there was always fun water activities happening. I couldn’t swim, so I stayed with the kiddies in the shallow water by the beach. I loved watching my dad and uncle water ski though.

Before you worked at s4a what did you do?
I worked with databases and web applications in a variety of settings—a luxury goods e-retailer, a Swiss knife and watch manufacturer, an academic non-profit organization, and a company providing web-enabled musical instruments. I’ve also continuously studied music for over 20 years now, and I play the piano and the drums.

Describe what you do at s4a in one sentence:
I keep the portal between s4a and the customer open on the website, and work continually with our customer service and site merchandising teams to improve and enhance the customer’s shopping experience.

What’s your favorite thing about working for s4a?
The colorful suits and the beautiful photography really make the web site a pleasure to look at.

What’s in your beach tote?
Sunscreen, hand/body lotion, mp3 player and a book.

Describe your swim style in three words:
Fun, simple and sexy.

The new GabiFresh Nala Underwire Midkini is part of the larger Swim Sexy collection and features a vibrant tribal print, cutouts and hidden underwire on a very fashion forward and flattering midkini top and high waisted bottom.

Swim Sexy is about having fun—at the beach, pool, or wherever the water takes you. It’s bold, flirty and, above all, sexy. The rest of the collection features high impact colors and must have prints—from florals to cheeky pineapples, and retro styles sure to channel that 1950’s bombshell spirit.

swimsuitsforall President and CEO Moshe Laniado says of the new collection, “We wanted to create something we felt was missing in the market. Last year’s launch of Swim Sexy and the first GabiFresh x swimsuitsforall collection just made sense. There are so many ladies who love they way they look in a bathing suit and want to show a little personality and perhaps a little skin. This year we’ve expanded the Swim Sexy collection and worked with Gabi again for one special piece.”

Laniado adds, “We wanted to provide a fresh collection inspired by a woman who is stylish, confident and fun. Gabi is very much that and a pretty great designer to boot.”

Swim Sexy swimwear is currently available at swimsuitsforall.com with new pieces being added weekly. The GabiFresh Nala Underwire Midkini will begin shipping April 16, 2014. The entire collection is available in sizes 10-24 and prices range from $58-$78.
